God won’t give you more than you can bear
This has to be one of the best verses in the Bible.
Right???
Wrong!!!
It really isn’t even in the Bible.
The actual verse says that God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
Does that mean we will be stressed?
Does that mean we will actually be challenged beyond our abilities?
Does that mean we will be stretched past our limits?
Or that we there will be times that the pain is unbearable?
The truth is that God gives us more than we can handle all of the time. On purpose. Is He being mean? Does He care? If He’s God, why doesn’t He enter in and take the pain, and stress away? Or give us the ability to do it in our own strength? Because it is only when we cant handle it anymore that we run to Him, really run to Him… and He becomes everything we need and more.
I knew America was bad…but this bad???
Wow, who knew America was this bad:
?Estimated U.S.unchurched population 195,000,000
?During the 10 year period from the mid 1980’s to mid 1990’s,the U.S.population has increased 11.4% while church membership has declined 9.5% (Journal for Church Growth).
?No county in America has a greater percentage of churched people today than a decade ago (American Society for Church Growth).
?North America is the ONLY continent where Christianity is not growing.
?Church attendance has declined approximately 10% over the last 7 years (George Barna – The Church in the World Today).
?There is a net loss of48 churches per week,or nearly 7 churches per day (American Society for Church Growth).
Yikes some of that is really scary stuff!
Being vs. Doing
Just saw this quote while surfing the world wide web…“The positive things you do in excess, followers will emulate in moderation. The negative things you do in moderation, they will emulate in excess.”
This is an eye opening reminder to be Living Proof. Especially as we get ready to be around so many family members (some probably very annoying). Everyone is a leader to someone!
